Which formats are supported?
Progressive MP4 video and common audio containers (such as M4A/WebM audio) when YouTube exposes them. Ultra-high DASH-only streams may not appear because we don’t merge tracks on our servers.

Supported links and practical tips
SaveYT accepts standard YouTube watch URLs, shortened youtu.be links, and Shorts URLs. After you click Fetch, you’ll see progressive video options and audio options when YouTube exposes them. Progressive files include video and audio together, which is what most people want for offline playback.
If a video only offers separated DASH streams, those ultra-high variants may not appear. That tradeoff keeps SaveYT lightweight: we resolve metadata and hand your browser a direct CDN link instead of re-encoding on expensive servers. For audio study sessions, choose an audio row; for offline watching, choose the highest MP4 listed.
On mobile, some browsers open the media file in a new tab instead of forcing a “Save as” dialog. Use your browser share sheet or “Download link” menu when that happens. On desktop Chrome, the file typically downloads or opens as MP4/M4A you can save locally.
